Jamie sits on the train from Kanto to Vallure with Bulbasaur.

Jamie: It's a whole new adventure, Bulbasaur. Hmhm...It's a Whole New World We Live In...But We Still Gotta Catch 'Em All...To Be The Best That You Can Be.

Bulbasaur: Saur saur!

The train stops and Jamie gets off.

Jamie: Oh soyou brought Toxicub instead of Magmosaur? But isn't your bond with Magmosaur greater? He was your first pokemon, right?

Ian: Yeah, he was my first. But Toxicub is one of the pokemon closest to me. It took a liking to me in Fullmoon Forest after we saved it.

Jamie: Hm...Bulbasaur's been with me since the beginning. Sure it's small for a Bulbasaur but it's gotten me through more than I care to remember. He's my best buddy...Alright, Ian. The gloves are off. How about a battle?

Ian: Alright. Let's go! Mekka, do you have anywhere we can battle?
(Ironically, Ian would be putting his fingerless gloves on)

Mekka: (nods)

Moments later out front

Mekka: This battle between Jamie and Ian will now begin!

Jamie: You ready?

Ian: Right.

Jamie: Forespike, let's do this!

Forespike: Spike!

Jamie: (scans Pisail) Hm...Piscail isn't that fast or powerful but...it can really take a hit. Forespike we'll have to go all out here. Ready?

Forespike: Spike!

Ian: Piscail, start it off, tail whip!

Jamie: Hm?

Forespike: Spike? (gets distracted by the tail whip, just watching it)

Looks a little like a Betamon

Ian: Okay! Jump up and use tackle! The gravity will speed you up!

Jamie: Alright Forespike, inhale!

Forespike: Spike! (sucks in air and all its spikes stand up)

Ian: Try to hit it's feet! Knock it over and get the stomach!

Jamie: Curl and Tackle!

Forespike: Spike! (curls up into a ball leaving nothing exposed then rolls toward Piscail)

Ian: Wait for it... It might hurt a little, but when it gets to you, try to hit it upwards with tackle.

Jamie: As soon as you hit it, start rolling the other way!

Forespike: (makes contact with Piscail and as Piscail launches it with Tackle it starts rolling backwards, landing back in front of Jamie) Spike!

Ian: Tackle, again! Use your sail to hit it to try to keep spike damage to a minimal!

Jamie: Bounce then ricochet!

Forespike: (lets Piscail get close then bounces off of the fin and flies toward a tree then rebounds from the tree and flies like a missile toward Piscail) Spiiiiiiiii...

Ian: That's it! When it's about to hit you, tackle your sail into the stomach!

Jamie: (gets a gleam in her eye and thinks to herself) Exactly what I thought. (Out loud) Cannonball!

Forespike: (curls back into a ball and lands on the opposite side of Piscail then uses the momentum to charge directly for Piscail)

Ian: Piscail! Fight it head on! Tackle!

As the two pokemon collide, Jamie notices something as the smoke clears.

Jamie: Hm?

Forespike: Spike! (appears to be stuck by its spikes in Piscail's...sail) Spispiii! (tries to get loose)

Jamie: (busts out laughing) Bahahahahahahahaha! Forespike hahaha don't, don't panic haha! Cannonball!

Forespike: Spike! (curls up and starts spinning like crazy with Piscail still attached)

Ian: Jump and flip over! Let it collide with the floor!

Jamie: Wait a minute...hehe. Forespike hold your ground but spin really fast when it gets free!

Forespike: Spike! (rolls at high speed as Piscail gets free, blowing up large GUST)

Ian: Piscail! Tail Whip above you, try to slow your fall. Then tackle immediately after you land!

Jamie: Hm...Play tage with it!

Forespike: (jumps out of the way of tackle and taps its tailfin then does again when it turns around)

Jamie: Piscail's way too slow to just directly attack like that. Learning the strengths of your pokemon, I'm sure, you know is key. Forespike, tackle!

Forespike: Spike! (uses Tackle)
