Emerald City - Gym: Ice. The gym leader here is actually quite the cold person. Lame puns aside, she'll only battle a trainer she sees as a challenge. It may be against her duties as a gym leader but she's not won a battle in some time due to her good judement. Regardless, don't think that means anything. She only loses because she knows to send trainers away for a bit to train before they challenge her. She's certainly not an easy victory. A contest hall happens to be the same building as the gym.

Ali: I think that after the next contest we'll come back here for the last one before the grand festival.

Shay: (Is already sitting downstairs) Mornin'....

Koalaqua: Koal!

Nami: *Goes downsatirs*

Brandon: Hey, guys. What you wanna eat for breakfast?

Magmaraptor: Mag!

Zak: Dunno. As long as it tastes good.

Shay: (is already setting down Poke Food for her pokemon) C'mon out everyone!

Flirus: (Emerges)

Lucario: (Crosses its arms)

Magmosaur: Saur!

Urcicle: Urcicle!

Koalaqua: Koal!

Shay: (Walks outside)

Brandon: Well I'm not going the eat. I'm heading out for my Gym Battle.

Ali: Well I guess we'll meet you there then.

Brandon: Right, see ya at the gym! (runs off)

Nami: See ya. *Takes out a bowl of dry ramen, then a mini stove-type-thing and puts it on a table, then puts a container of water on it*

Shay: I'll follow. I'm not hungry. As usual... (Runs after Brandon)

Brandon: Hm? (runs into Isis and Lilian)

Lilian: (sees Shay) Oh, it's you again! Is this your friend?

Isis: Hey, guys, how goes it?

Shay: Meh... It's going great Thinking: even if we just woke up...

Isis: You ready for that gym battle?

Lilian: Oh, I'd like to see this.

Brandon: Let's go.

Ali: Looks like we're all done eating. Guess we should go now...

Zak: Ok.

All of Shay's pokemon run out of the center and to her.

Shay: OH Hey.

Koalaqua: Koal.

Zak: Heh...

Nami: k. *gets up and walks towards the gym*

Inside the gym

Lilian: This will be a two part Double Battle! The first wave is two pokemon each! When one loses their pokemon they do not substitute it until they have lost their second! Is that understood?!

Brandon: (Thinks) It is freezing in this gym Understood!

Isis: Then here we go! (throws two pokeballs) Dewgong, Cloyster come help me out here!

Dewgong: Gooong!

Cloyster: Cloy Cloy!

Brandon: I prepared for this. Nutrinurse, Armetreo, go!

Shay: Good luck Brandon.... (Calls bak all her pokemon except Koalaqua and Magmosaur)

Zak: *Has Stagly & Fertileaf out* Brandon so will win.

Ali: Not necessarily. His only type advantage is with Nutrinurse's Focus Punch as neither of those pokemon are really weak to fire.

Brandon: Rollout, Armetreo! Nutrinurse, Focus Punch!

Isis: (snaps and Dewgong uses Water Pulse on Armetreo, slowing it down then it rams into Cloyster's tough shell)

Armetreo: @.@ Ar...

Shayleen: (Picks up Koalaqua and sits down) Hm....

Magmosaur: (sits down next to her)

Lilian: Heehee, you'll have to do better than that. Isis nearly beat the last Elite 4 champ.

Brandon: Hm...Nutrinurse, use Pill Pop!

Nutrinurse closes in on Dewgond who swings around with Aqua Tail but just misses, letting Nutrinurse toss it high up into the air, at the same time burning it.

Nami: Whoa..... Isis is good.....

Shay: this is turning into a good battle....

Koalaqua: Koal!

Ali: She should hope she is. She's the eight gym leader.

As dewgong begins to fall, Nutrinurse uses Focus Punch on it and throws it across the field, hitting Cloyster who takes almost no damage at all.

Dewgong: Goon @_@

Brandon: One on One, where I shine! Pill Pop!

Nutrinurse: Nutri! (uses multiple Pill Pop attacks on Cloyster, whose shell is closed)

Brandon: (thinks) Man, that shell is hard...

Shay: Hmm... Mutters something under her breath.
