Emerald City - Gym: Ice. The gym leader here is actually quite the cold person. Lame puns aside, she'll only battle a trainer she sees as a challenge. It may be against her duties as a gym leader but she's not won a battle in some time due to her good judement. Regardless, don't think that means anything. She only loses because she knows to send trainers away for a bit to train before they challenge her. She's certainly not an easy victory. A contest hall happens to be the same building as the gym.

Ali: I think that after the next contest we'll come back here for the last one before the grand festival.

Nami: Sunflora, Solarbeam!

Sunflora: (begins charging Solarbeam)

Heirant: (does its part without even being told and uses calm mind at Sunflora's feet, setting off a wonderous display of colors)

Sunflora: (accidentally releases the solarbeam and falls on its back) Flora!

Nami: Ah! Sunflora! (runs over to Sunflora) You okay?

Sunflora: Sun?

Nami: Glad you're alright.

Sunflora: Sun...FLORA! (starts glowing)

Nami: Wha?!

Shay: (Stands up) It's....evolving.

Magmosaur: Saur!

Chloroflor: Flor!

Nami: S-sunflora?

Chloroflor: Chlor!

Shayleen: Hmm.. (Scans Cloroflor with her pokedex)

Dextette: Chloroflor, The Sunflower Pokemon. It sits in gardens disquising itself as a flower so farmers will pass by and unknowingly feed it. It plants its roots to gain nutrients and soaks up sunlight with its leaves.

Chloroflor: Chlor!

Shayleen: Cool!

Magmosaur: Saur!

Shayleen: Hmmm... Do you want a practice battle?

Nami: Why not? Ready?

Brandon: This should be fun to watch. (steps out with his hands in his pockets)

Shay: (Nods) Yep~ (pulls out a pokeball)

Nami: (looks at Brandon eyes wide then back at shay) Erm...ready.

Shay: Hmmm.... Magmosaur?

Magmosaur: Saur! (Runs on field)

Nami: Cloroflor, attack!

Chloroflor: Chlor! (spins around and uses Energy Ball)

Shay: Dodge it and use Fire Spin!

Magmosaur: (Dodges and uses Fire Spin)

Chloroflor: (spins around at high speed and petals fly all over the place)

Nami: What's...Is that Petal Dance?! Great!

Petal Dance hits Fire Spin and the two attacks negate one another.

Shay: Nice! Magmosaur?

Magmosaur: (Uses Quick Attack to get behind Cloroflor and uses Fire Spin again)

Cloroflor: Chlor! (is surrounded by rings of fire)

Nami: Solarbeam! (please still know Solarbeam)

Chloroflor: (Blasts a Solarbeam high up into the air that breaks the flaming rings around it) Chlor...(breathes heavily)

Nami: That's enough, Chloroflor. Good job.

Chloroflor: Flor!

Brandon: Good job.

Shay: (holds up Magmosaur's pokeball) return.

Magmosaur: (Returns to its pokeball)

Shay: Great battle Nam. You'll do great in the Grand Festival. (Smiles and starts walking away)

The next day, Brandon walks out of the pokemon center with Magmaraptor by his side.

Brandon: Let's get rolling, gang!

Shay is still not in her room

Magmosaur: Saur?

Shay: (Was thinking of her strategy for The Finals but is just a few feet away from the center) Hm... Andy's bound to have a couple new pokemon, right Mag?

Magmosaur: Saur....

Nami: (runs outside) Ready to go!

Ali: As am I (runs into someone) Oomf! Huh?

Guy: Huh? Oh, I'm terribly sorry. My name's Marth. I designed the Portable PC system for the pokedex.

Shay: C'mon Magmo.

Magmosaur: Saur. (Follows Shay)

Shay: (Meets up with the group) Hmm?

Marth: My friend, Bill (Cameo from the games XD) designed the actual PC system. Our friends Lanette and Bebe made some modifications. I'm sure friends in other regions are working on the system as well. (Walks off) Nice meeting you all!

Brandon: Alright, now we're ready to get moving? Stadium City isn't going to wait for us!

Shay: Yeah let's go. (Starts walking with Magmo)

Marth: (catches up witht eh group) Whoa, hold up! I just thought of something! Here, this is an SS. Ticket. Take this and you're free for a cruise! You can all share the ticket!

Brandon: Uh...

Ali: We'll take it! How long's the cruise?

Marth: A week.

Shay: oh cool!

magmosaur: Saur!

Marth: You should head off to the dock in Rojan if you plan on going.

Brandon: Sure. Thanks. So I take it we're going to Rojan to catch this Cruise
